DUTIES: Reporting to the Deputy CAO, the Accounting Clerk I Casual position performs clerical and administrative duties that include but is not limited to; data management, document preparation, receipting and balancing and providing customer service to municipal staff and residents.
HOURS OF WORK: Days of work vary Monday to Friday; casual hours
LOCATION: Maple Creek Town Office – 205 Jasper Street
RATE OF PAY: $22.97 per hour in 2025 (as included within the current Collective Agreement)

Position Overview: The Town of Maple Creek and its JEMP partners (RM of Maple Creek, Nekaneet First Nation, RM of Big Stick, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, and Fort Walsh National Historic Site) are seeking a Contract EMO Coordinator. This role supports emergency preparedness by coordinating planning efforts, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring community readiness.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and support a Regional EMO Planning Committee with partner representation.
• Facilitate review, updates, and approval of the Joint Emergency Management Plan (JEMP).
• Act as the main contact for emergency management in the JEMP Region.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and external agencies.
• Provide administrative support to the Planning Committee (e.g., scheduling meetings, taking/distributing minutes of the meetings).
• Promote public education on emergency preparedness.
• Coordinate emergency management training for partners and staff.
• Ensure EOC (Emergency Operations Centre) supplies are ready and assist with EOC activation.
• Act as EOC or Emergency Reception Centre (ERC) Director as needed.
Qualifications:
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage diverse groups effectively.
• Problem-solving skills under pressure and resilience in stressful situations.
• Familiarity with emergency management regulations and procedures.
• Experience in municipal operations or emergency response is an asset.
• Completion of, or willingness to complete, ICS 100, 200, and EOC Level 1 training.
Work Environment:
• Evening and weekend work may be required.
• Extended hours during emergencies.
• Travel within the JEMP Region is necessary.
Requirements:
• Proficiency with communication tools (radios, laptops, phones) and software (Word, Excel, social media).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Clear criminal record check.

POSITION TITLE: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS – FULL TIMEQUALIFICATIONS: • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent • Supervisory training and experience • Certification as a Powered Mobile Equipment Evaluator (Saskatchewan Safety Council) • Level II Certification in both Water Treatment & Distribution and Wastewater Treatment & Collection, or actively working toward certification • Valid Saskatchewan Class V Driver’s License • Valid First Aid/ CPR, H2S, Confined Space, Ground Disturbance, and WHMIS • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
DUTIES: Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Director of Operations is responsible for the effective planning, management, and oversight of the Town of Maple Creek’s operational departments. This includes Public Works, municipal utilities, landfill, cemetery, parks, airport, municipal facilities, and associated capital projects. The Director of Operations provides leadership to staff and ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality municipal services that support the strategic priorities of the Town.
Responsibilities and duties of the Director of Operations will include but are not limited to: • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of municipal infrastructure and services • Ensure the maintenance, repair, and improvement of Town assets, including roads, water and sewer systems, public facilities, and parks • Supervise and support the Public Works Field Assistant and Parks Assistant to ensure work is performed to expected standards • Manage departmental budgets and lead capital projects from planning through completion • Foster a positive and productive work environment within the Public Works team.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm (evening & weekends as required)
